Personal Injury AND business law specialist?

I came across an attorney's blog today and the guy is an "expert" in personal injury and business law. Now this stuck me as funny. He is also an expert in employment law and disability.

There are few words on the entire site that don't shout that this guy is a plaintiff's attorney. And yet he says he's an expert business lawyer.

I thought about linking to his site to show you what I mean, but I don't want to be unfair to someone I don't know, or get into a shouting match in blog comments. But his site brought up a big red flag to me that I wanted to pass on.

Business law is a HUGE huge area of law. I wouldn't claim to be an expert in all business law. I am pretty darned expert in advising small, privately held companies in many of their most routine legal issues. I am also an expert in the very narrow area of Independent Contractor-employee distinctions.

But for someone to claim to be an expert in business law AND an expert personal injury/disability attorney... I don't see it.

I also think there's a fundamental 180 degree difference in these two specialties. They require different approaches, different technical skills. They are just different.

And let me state for the record I would be a terrible Personal Injury attorney.
