The Mobile Law Office

My husband and I are taking a break from relatives. We took Amtrak down to Washington DC and right now he's visiting the XM radio folks who are in charge of the station for which he produces a weekly show. And I'm camped out in the lobby getting a lot of catch-up work done.

XM, I'm sure, has wifi, but rather than impose and ask to get into their network, I'm using my Verizon card, which is working just great. I have all of my client files on a small (4"x6") harddrive, which I use both at the office and when on the road so I don't have to worry about transferring things from laptop to desktop.

Meanwhile, our phones have been transferred on our Virtual PBX to my legal assistant's cell phone while she sits by the pool in Palm Springs.

Although sometimes it's great to be able to leave the office behind, it's also wonderful to be able to take off for a week and still be available to my clients and get things accomplished.

Some days I really do love technology.
