Internet Escrow Scam
Internet Escrow Services are booming as more and more sales are made over the internet which require an intermediary to hold funds and/or items or transfer documents. But one escrow service -- Aplusplus Deals (aka A++ Deals) at wwwlaplusplusdeals.com -- appears not to be what it says it is.
I was alerted to this by a California Department of Corporations Alert reporting that A++ says it is licensed by the DoC, but it's not, and worse, it is using another company's license number, but isnt' related to that company. When I poked around their site, A++'s also says it's a member of the Better Business Bureau, but it's not listed as a member by BBB, and A++'s BBB button links to an error page. And it's not listed by the Arizona State Banking Department as alleged, either. After Arizona I got bored - obviously these people are slimedogs.
If you go to the Alert linked to above you'll see how many other fake escrow services are listed - WOW! Buyer beware out there.
